About

Hi!  I’m so glad you’re here.  Below is my “official bio”.   You can click here to read something more unedited and raw.  Or go here to read an article from a local blog where I am featured.

I am an educator and certified professional life coach.  I received my coaching credential through Coaching for Transformation’s year-long course at the Open Center in NYC .   I have also spent the last 15 years of my professional career as a teacher.  I have taught at various levels and subject areas– but primarily as a college instructor of Teacher Education.  I hold a Master’s degree in Social and Cultural Studies in Education from the University of California, Berkeley.  My undergraduate degree is in Sociology with minors in Women’s Studies and Caribbean Studies from Rutgers University.  My hobbies include cooking, volunteering at my local food co-op, Afro-Caribbean dance, and growing, playing and learning with my two young children.
