In my work with women the theme of alter-egos unfailingly comes up.   Alter-egos are those parts of ourselves that we have some clue exist but we decide to put away in a box, up on a shelf or down in a basement somewhere.

Final Self-Care Exercise

If you have made it to this point in the challenge, you’ve probably gathered that consistently practicing self care is not always   e a s y.

Maybe you have a deepened awareness of your need for support.  Maybe you appreciate the importance of kindness and compassion along the way.  Or perhaps you are motivated by knowing others are struggling along on the same journey.

Resisting the Good

A couple of participants of the 2012 Self Care Challenge have mentioned feeling a little less motivated this second week.  I am someone who knows first-hand how powerful these exercises can be, and still, I also find myself resisting a few of the daily practices.   I am too tired.  It’s not going to make that big of a difference.  I have other priorities.  I don’t feel like it…
